Qualification & Experience
􀁸 Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/ Engineering
􀁸 Experience: More than 10 years of experience in Environmental management and
leadership responsibility in a large organization with 4+ years of supervisory
experience preferably in a large utility company
􀁸 Fluent in English correspondence. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
􀁸 Computer literate and presentation skill
􀁸 Requires mobile communication during normal and outside office hours for
emergency contact
Major Duties / Responsibilities
􀁸 Ensures effective development and implementation of environmental strategies,
auditing systems, policies, objectives and procedures, in liaison with Head of Health
and Environment
􀁸 Develops and reviews environmental specifications and criteria in the design
phases of projects assigned
􀁸 Oversees implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and
Environmental Management Programs (EMPs)
􀁸 Develops and maintains Environmental Management Systems (EMS) which helps
identify the location of hazardous materials in all facilities
􀁸 Identifies the requirement for conduct of environmental studies and conducts them
as per requirement
􀁸 Assesses environmental impact of the projects undertaken by the facility
􀁸 Proposes ideas to curb factors that may act as obstacles in achieving environmental
sustainability through the services provided by Kahramaa
􀁸 Collects representative samples of hazardous and/ or industrial waste and conducts
bulk sampling of material suspected of containing environmental pollutants
􀁸 Conducts environmental workshops and ensures development and maintenance of
environmental risk registers
􀁸 Delivers employee training programs related to hazardous materials and waste,
thus educating them and spreading environmental awareness amongst employees
􀁸 Mentors and provides technical advice to graduates, design and project engineers,
technicians and technical specialists, on environmental aspects
􀁸 Ensures maintenance of accurate records related to chemical inventories,
complaint investigations and shipment of hazardous waste
􀁸 Submits clear and concise written reports based on field inspections
􀁸 Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement
department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
