Job Description
- High School Certification, preferably with applicable technical certification (e.g. trade
certificate) in Electrical field. - More than 6 years in a similar role.
- Driver’s License
- Must have valid Cable Jointer license or should take Cable Jointer Trade License Test for authorized certification to hold company safety documents.
- Knowledge of type of Cables, construction of cables and Cable laying procedure.
- Familiarity, functional knowledge and usage of various Tools, Torque wrench, Crimping tool, Gas Torch, XLPE Remover, Cable spiking tool, Insulation Tester and AVO meter/Clamp on meter is required.
- GPS and Camera is required with each Cable Jointer.
- This role requires the job holder to work in shifts.
- Extensive mobile communication (with superiors, subordinates, contractors, clients, etc…).
- Carries out maintenance work of LV/MV cables to ensure distribution network remains operational.
- Inspects and logs equipment performance and report any issues requiring attention of the
Foreman- Cable Jointing, based on inspection of distribution networks. - Conducts all joint operations on all types of joints such as straight, tee, pot end and
terminations (415V) as required. - Conducts all joint operations on all types of joints such as straight, transition, Outdoor terminations, and Indoor terminations (11KV/33KV) as required.
- Attends weekly standby duty and emergency calls.
- Responds to any emergency maintenance work in order to ensure restoration of distribution services at the earliest.
- Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification.
